Incredible. Check this out. I've been listening to Juan Williams for many years on NPR and also of Fox News. He is reliably liberal, even socialist. For example a couple of nights ago, he defended NYC rent control....and of course if you espouse a position that says that government can dictate how much you can charge (or not charge) for a good or service, then you are espousing a quintessentially socialist view.
Nonetheless, I've always admired Juan, because, in addition to his charming sense of humor, he, unlike most liberals, is actually willing to list and expound his reasons for his beliefs. I still don't agree with him, but at least he's not a coward.
Today, after over 10 years of service to NPR, he was sacked. His crime? He voiced his feeling that when he's at the airport, and he sees people around him in Muslim garb, he gets nervous. See the video below......
Now had he said that he gets nervous when he sees someone toting a Bible he would have gotten a promotion of course. But for "crossing the line" and expressing his feelings regarding Muslims, he gets sacked.
Now look, I like NPR. Their reporting is in-depth and creative and they cover some topics many radio stations do not. And so I have been a long-time listener. But I always put up my BS radar, because when it comes to political ideology it is immanently apparent where they stand, and that they are ever-ready to give conservative opinion the shaft. And yet, I have to pay, with my tax dollars for this bias. If NPR had to support itself without subsidization, they would, like Air America, have left the air long ago.
So now, is it just coincidence that Mr. Obama's puppet-master, George Soros recently donated 1.8 million to NPR? Is it just coincidence, that since the left can't destroy Fox and conservative radio with another speech restricting "fairness" doctrine that they find other despicable ways to attack opposing views?
Where is the freedom of speech now? Liberals and the left are being exposed as posers when it comes to the first amendment. They don't really want freedom of speech or the press unless it is freedom to control the media and espouse only their views.
